The African Expo of Dreams, otherwise known as T.A.E.o.D, aims to dispel the misconception that Africa is unable to contribute to the discourse of Architecture. It sets out to orchestrate a masterplan that hosts various buildings and structures that promote ideas and spark conversations about the future of Africa. The main infrastructure is a structural framework that allows various archetypes to reside within it.
Set on the coast of Badagry, this fictional and visionary proposal is sponsored by the 'United Nations of Africa' and the 'Africa Fund'. It is set to redefine the architectural landscape of Africa. It transcends the idea of desigining ill-contextualised structures and introduces concepts that inspire and spark conversations, about the future of Africa.
The proposal features a diverse range of buildings, from debating chambers and auditoriums to film, music, and art workshops, exhibition spaces, cinemas and theatres, staff accommodation and many more. Each building is a catalyst for ideas, a space where the future of Africa is imagined and discussed.
The unique concept of this proposal is built upon the premise that African countries are invited to design buildings within the proposed infrastructure, thus creating a dynamic cluster of buildings that showcase a beautiful fusion of African cultures through architecture.
